CoalTek is developing technology for a cleaner-burning coal to severely reduce harmful emissions. The company desired a branded identity to promote the new future for this old energy source.

The stretched shape alludes to how coal is formed in strata by geological pressures. The lighter transition represents transformation. The interior core contains a visual energy and at the same the space offers a benign airy quality. 

A fresh natural green dominates the palette to speak to a greener, brighter energy future.

The abstracted C anchors the brand in all collateral and application. Other project elements include the design of stationery, marketing materials, lobby signage and other applications.

The client feels the look is exactly what they need to move them and markets into a new paradigm.
